BORED. REALLY RIDICULOUSLY BORED NOW, let me tell ya.
I'd've probably gone ahead with an order, but I'm not terribly hurting for charms -- my cell doesn't actually have a charm slot, and my DS is completely loaded down. I've removed a lot of them from the straps (the kewpies you got me, the Novala Takemoto Hello Kitty collaboration I HAD TO GET OBVIOUSLY) and just use them for miniature props.
I know a lot of people convert Re-ment into straps -- it's always a debate if I want to turn them into decorations or let things exist on their own tiny merit.
Speaking of phones, my mother is really tempted to get an iPhone -- she has a Palm Centro, but the screen is too small for her tastes. I told her you adored yours -- any words of enabling praise for the iPhone, particularly in ease-of-viewing respects?
To bring some context to the current state of my vision, I just got my first set of bifocals like a year ago. And, yeah, I like the screen size just fine, BUT sometimes I have trouble viewing the text. This is most annoying on email, which seems to vary completely randomly from message to message, and, you can't do the cool "tip it over and read it in landscape format" trick like you do with the web.
What I'd really suggest is she get herself to an Apple store, or somewhere she can play with an iPhone for a bit and decide. I originally went to play with them at the U bookstore, since I wouldn't be annoyed by salespeople there. And, my first glance, it was like, Hoo-HAH! Just the whole "hey a web page really looks like a web page on your computer" really sold me. She also need to figure out if she can live with a touch screen. I found the keypad a bit annoying at first (especially when you're jerking around on the bus) but I'm learning to live with it.
The thing that REALLY made me fall in love is just the easy, easy, easy user interface. The dude who sold it to use maybe told us two things, and we were off. There's like TWO buttons. Maybe three if you count the volume control. And that's it! Otherwise, if you want to scroll down, run your finger down, it scrolls. Wanna increase the font? Pull it out with your fingers. Wanna see landscape? Tip it sideways. Like wow.
These look to be based on the BeruBara Kids manga Ikeda's been doing lately, which is adorable SD adventures of everyone's favorite hopelessly doomed french revolution era historical figures. I think I'll watch for these.
http://www.asahi.com/bbkids/ Asahi-Sonorama's been publishing it for a few years now- apparently it's a 4-koma [4 panel] comic strip, and looks to be in colour. There's 3 volumes so far. [and hey look, Chibi Louis! Chibi Grandma! Chibi Rosalie!]
Oh lordie, must-have-chibi-Oscar! >.< And here I was trying to NOT collect Beru-Bara stuffs; Ah well, one little phonestrap couldn't hurt, right? Right? *knows full well she'll somehow end up with full set ^^;* lol
