Stuff should be finishing tomorrow afternoon, including a couple of my Amazoness Quartet.

I've kept a couple of Amazoness back, because I R evil.

This is the last time I'm trying to sell the Dancing doll from Italy. Seemingly, this item is cursed. The first winning bidder didn't pay. Then when I relisted, I got a ton of pissy questions apparently trying to figure out how I was trying to scam everyone by putting up a pretty cool doll (IMHO) for $20. So I yanked her. Now she's back one more time, and if she doesn't find a good home this time, she's getting tossed in the Goodwill pile, though she may perform for President Obama first. YOU NEVER KNOW!

Also, my dream pocket SM dolls are starting to go up this week. I think I have pretty much a full set, so if you know someone who's looking, I've got them. And a ton of Bandai Asia dolls. And a couple little Halloweeny dolls. In case anybody I know likes Halloween.

It's been difficult to hate eBay this week, as I've actually been getting some absurdly sweet messages from a few buyers who received stuff and actually liked it. That's always nice to hear. It takes so little, really.

She talks in FRENCH! I mean, how cool is that? And nobody is interested at $19.99? Everything sounds better in French! I mean, that's just true.

*grrrumble* Kids these days....

Oh, eBay, you always find new and creative ways to annoy!

Anyways, great post about eBay letting other sellers "share" your auction photos:

http://naamah-darling.livejournal.com/411410.html

Warning: eBay will be using photos without creators' permission.
Via apocalypticbob:

Starting on August 31st, eBay is going to institute a new policy where photos you upload to any listing are put into a "catalog" of online images that any eBay user can then use for their own listings. The default setting for this is opt-in, which is a problem if you, like me, consider your photographs your property and want to control how they are used and by whom. A copyright notice is posted with a link to your user profile, but no additional information is given, and the link is quite small....

If you read the whole thing, it gives very clear directions on how to opt out of this stupidity.

I've been really lazy about reading all of eBay's updates of late, but after reading this, I found out I was opted IN to eBay letting people "share" my auction photos. I changed that. I just think it's criminally misleading to post pictures of stuff you don't own. Even if you post a zillion disclaimers, a lot of people are lazy and don't really read the descriptions.

OK, so, a picture for ourselves for to keep ourselves from losing sanity:

All of these boxes formerly held dolliehs, and they're empty and waiting for the recycle-y bin yay!

Tho, someone just wrote that they're gonna buy my Kisara and Tom dolls and give the outfits to Barbie and Ken. *shudders*

Stuff ending tomorrow, and more stuff going up:

Like, talking Chibi. You know you want her! She's like Ewoks, just so darned cute!!

So, this is Sailor Moon's Sparkling Castle playset.

It's from Japan, one of the original Japanese Bandai toys. It's probably one of the biggest Sailor Moon items ever made. It's definitely one of the bigget playsets we've ever seen, just a little bit smaller than the GI Joe aircraft carrier, but still. It was scaled for the 12" scale dolls. It also lights up or speaks or something if you put the right doll on the stand, though we've never actually taken it out to see.

How did we get ours? Many years ago, our buddy, Darla, who lived in Japan, scored a couple of these, and at great personal inconvenience, shipped them all the way to the USA for her Moon-iac buddies. We've always considered it one of the crowning items of our collection - the playset that could kick the ass of all the other playsets. It's just big and wonderful and crazy and stupid. It's got a million zillion teensy parts, that you could never do in the USA because kids would choke and die.

But, we've recently relocated our anime dolls to make room for our Disneyana, and this, like everything else, was listed on eBay.

Here be our tale of woe )

OK....

So, tiki spent the morning at the post office, mailing off dollies to all our nice buyers.

Entering the PO is always an eye-opening event, as we marvel at the fellow human beings we meet who have, for all evidence, never in their lives before entered a post office, and as such are innocent of the wonders therein. Like, these packages, what are they?

Today was a good sampling, as the line stretched out the door.

Do you see the woman at the counter?

She didn't know how to use a roll of tape. Yes, really. She didn't know how to use tape. The insanely patient postal clerk was helping her.
