Hot sand

Been meaning to get some pictures of this item. This is a Stitch "hot sand" maker from Sanrio (yes, the Hello Kitty people).





It's basically a panini grill, which burns Stitchie pictures into your toaast.



We love the amusing cartoon descriptions of various tragedies in the instructions sheet.



Here's the appliance. It's actually kind of small.



You'd probably have to at least cut the crusts off US-style bread to make it fit inside.



The grill burns an image of Stitchs' face into your sandwich....



...and in case that wasn't clear enough, it also says "Stitch" (in English) on the other side.

And, no, we haven't tried it out yet, partly as our friend fushigikb has often warned us of the vagaries of using Sanrio appliances (Danger, Will Robinson!).

Seems like it was some kind of limited edition thingie--there were also cups and plates, and they were supposedly only available at one chain in Japan, 7-11 I think.
