Hot sand

Been meaning to get some pictures of this item. This is a Stitch "hot sand" maker from Sanrio (yes, the Hello Kitty people).





It's basically a panini grill, which burns Stitchie pictures into your toaast.



We love the amusing cartoon descriptions of various tragedies in the instructions sheet.



Here's the appliance. It's actually kind of small.



You'd probably have to at least cut the crusts off US-style bread to make it fit inside.



The grill burns an image of Stitchs' face into your sandwich....



...and in case that wasn't clear enough, it also says "Stitch" (in English) on the other side.

And, no, we haven't tried it out yet, partly as our friend fushigikb has often warned us of the vagaries of using Sanrio appliances (Danger, Will Robinson!).

oh! sorry if i've been scarying you. i meant the US-made products. those are real scary. however, they don't use the same maker anymore so i really don't know anymore how bad or not products in the states are now. especially cause a lot of them are overpriced compared to regular, on the shelf, non-tie-in promo versions. they're more cheaply made too, i wouldn't doubt it if had poor use as well. box-wise they don't list the manufacturer either... @_@

I want a Stitch sammy! I bet they come out super cute. I have been meaning to ask- I didn't really get into posting in LJ around Halloween, and I was wondering if y'all had a Stitch pumpkin- why ask? Well, because I saw this on on Deviant Art.

Seems like it was some kind of limited edition thingie--there were also cups and plates, and they were supposedly only available at one chain in Japan, 7-11 I think.
