Halloweenies
Nov. 13th, 2008 09:52 amSo today's theme is....a jolly holiday with Stitch! Japan Style!!!
We weren't actually in Tokyo for Halloween (we spent our actual anniversary crossing the International Date Line, which was kinda appropriate, if you think of it). But, there was still some residual Stitchiness to be had. In fact, when we were on our way to Star Case, which is the awesome-est Star Wars only retailer in the whole wide world (and only partly because it's the only Star Wars-only retailer in the whole wide world), we happened into a random convenience store, and beheld....

Funny thing is, even though we pretty much spend every waking hour scanning Japanese online auction boards, we'd never seen these guys before!

This is one of the cutest tags we've ever seen.

And there was more! This ears hat was evidently in the same series.

This punkin purse was made by Heartland.

Another cute tag.

And what would Halloween be without candy?

Stitch and Scrumpie obviously agree.
The upshot of this unexpected discovery was to wonder how much Stitchiana there is over in Japan that, despite our almost obsessive efforts over the last three or four years, simply goes undocumented! As we said, we were just wandering randomly through Tokyo, on our way to another shop. And, who is buying all this stuff - tiki can't get out there every weekend, after all? Is there now in each and every household in Japan a sooper sekrit cache of Stitchie stuffs? The mind boggles.

Date: 2008-11-13 11:46 pm (UTC)Thanks for sharing yet another batch of Stitchie win!
(something that particularly amused me - the fact that the candy is called 'Lovely Halloween'.)
