Been away so long I hardly knew the place
Aug. 11th, 2007 06:41 pmSo, as y'all know, the tiki's have been kinda, ya know, unavailable for the past few weeks.
But, a tiki never sleeps (well, unless she's jet-lagged), so we'd asked our kindly agents in Japan, Celga, to please keep for a while our purchases in their warehouse, until we were available to zoom down to the PO box and whisk them away to Casa de Tikistitch.
Well, 'tis time.
And, we gots boxes o' Stitchies
BIG boxes.

( Woo-HOO! )

Sweet harmony

So, even though we have a passion for weird Stitchie ceramic, we avoided these Harmony Kingdom boxes when they were first offered by Disney. "Huh!" we scoffed, "Just more manufactured collectibles designed to relieve us of our hard-earned cash."
( scoff, scoff )
A conundrum...
Jul. 1st, 2005 07:24 pm
And so, we are left with a question.
Just how many Lilo & Stitch licensed products can logically be Teh. Cutest. Evar?
( Shake, shake, shake )
We *heart* Lilo!!!
Mar. 28th, 2005 06:21 pmSQUEEEE!!!! Look what we got today...
But first, a story. Late Friday night, Mr. Tikistitch brought home from our mailbox place, not the expected delightful package full of ceramic Stitchiness, but rather a grumpy postcard from a mailing company. What can BROWN do for you? Well, not much, or so it seems. Yes, the mailing address that was good enough for the ol' US Postal Service to deliver said postcard was not sufficient for the high standards of the United Parcel Service. They turned up their nose at our too shabby mailing address, and insisted we show up in person, bearing ID, to be reunited with our goods.
So, given that UPS don't work weekends, after 72 hours of waiting and biting our editorial fingernails, as Monday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm dawned, we fired up the Tiki-mobile and pointed her in the general direction of Seattle's Scary Industrial district. Where is the Industrial District? Good question. It begins somewhere around where the Kingdome used to be (before it got blowed up) and continues over several miles of unused railroad tracks. We attempted to scurry around the copious semi trucks, and, after only 3 or 4 (or 5 or 6) wrong turns, managed to locate the UPS warehouse.
( So, waddya get??? )

Return of the King

The Dizzney Classics Collection ceramic figures are quite a hoop-de-doo. Elvis Stitch, the newest item, comes in a snazzy green pinstriped box. And look at all the paperwork!!! You'd think you were adopting an Uzbek baby or something!
Here's His Royal Stitchiness, which we finally located under 12 pounds of foam rubber in the bottom of the box. Ooo, shiny!!
BIG STITCH IS HERE!!!!!

SQUEEEEEEE!!
This is Cosmic Kahuna Stitch, and it was evidently available only at Disney parks. Look at that cuuuute little face!!! He's playing his ukelele for Lilo's hula dancing (another statue, which Tikistitch does NOT own). He's even brought his coconut drink.
Here he is getting to know his Japanese cousin. According to the enclosed certificate, the edition number on this statue is "open," so possibly they'll be making more.
Stitch Store
Mar. 2nd, 2005 12:21 pm
Went back to the Stitch Store this weekend to pick up odds and sods we'd missed on the first go round. So, as you may surmise, this was obviously the lower priority "girlie" stuff. Ewwww.
Anyways, there's a bunch of icky pastel stuff featuring Stitch and a bunch of other Dizzney characters, including a set of glasses, a strange, egg-shaped ceramic tray (is it supposed to be a plate? or what??), and a placemat. All of these in the same color scheme as the candle holder we showed a few days ago. We mean, Pooh Bear is cute and all, but c'mon, wouldn't you rather have a set of four Stitch glasses??
Best news of the day: Stitch Has a Glitch, the new video, now has a release date: August 20th. Mark your calendars!!
Bunny time!

Click if you want to see a bigger image. Or not. We don't care.
It's that time of year again! Time for new Stitchies! Lots of new Stitchies. In fact, so many that Tikistitch is going to have to go back for another trip to the Dizzney Store for stuff we didn't pick up last night. Oooo, the pain!! Besides the cutie mini-statue of our favorite genetic mutant with his froggie friend, Stitch also pops up on several Easter-themed ceramic pieces, including this funny purple candle holder, which also features other Dizzney characters, like Winnie the Pooh, and that Eva Gabor cat from the Aristocats.
Of course, we were obligated to scarf up the newest plushies, which included this charming, medium-sized depiction of Stitch strangling a duckling, and a tripped out pastel mini beans version of Stitch as a bunny wabbit. Trippy!
And don't forget, the best Stitch t-shirt ever.
