This statue of Stitch, from Japan's awesome Disney mall, is based on an actual statue of the legendary King Kamehameha, which stands in Kapa'au.

One fun thing about Lilo & Stitch is learning bitlets of Hawaiian culture. It's a state in the union, but we literally knew nothing of its history other than surfer dudes come from there.

Oh. And poi. Whatever the heck that is.

This is not a Big Fig, fortunately (we're kinda running out of room). It's about 8 or 9 inches high. We really gotta get a new curio cabinet, because it's pretty awesome.

Date: 2007-08-19 01:52 am (UTC)It's cool when we were in Kauai for the wedding Mr. Spazzygirl was in in 2002 (the year L&S came out). Often Lilo will mention certain places a cousin is hiding & it's cool knowing that it's a real place *and* that I actually know what she's talking about. ;-)
