.. if you wish to post this in your journal, it's been requested that you title it "I'm afraid of __ out of 72 common fears."
Not gon' do. tiki ain't afraid of no memes!

If you get more than 30, I strongly recommend some counseling.
If you get more than 20, you’re paranoid.
If you get 10-20, you are normal. LOL
If you get 10 or less, you’re fearless.
People who don’t have any are liars

Funny they didn't mention flying in airplanes, which is our big 'un.
Also seems like this is another one aimed at LJ kiddies, 'cause they don't mention fears for your spouse and/or your babies. We can't comment on mommage, but we know we spend an undue amount of time worrying whether Mr. Tiki is safe and warm and has access to a nice cup of coffee.

"The welcome mat"???

If this is aimed at the young'uns, they forgot "Having problems with MySpace."

They didn't have a lot of my fears either... but I suppose they can't put them all on there?

That's true, they can't list EVERYTHING, but, fear of flying is so well known, there are actually treatment programs. They didn't include that one, but DID include fear of....dormats? Like, WTF?

Veryveryvery true. Is fear of doormats even a real fear or did they just throw that in there because they thought they were funny?

I agree; anything happening to Cory is my primary fear.

Well. I'm actually... phobic? compulsive? to the point where it actually affects my daily life. (I don't let it keep me from doing things, but I actually have to fight to keep from FREAKING OUT on long escalators and things. It's incredibly noticeable; my friends tease me.)

It's all related to a fear of heights and the fact that I'm both tall and have incredibly poor balance. So escalators (particularly the long ones), the edges of subway platforms, old shallow stairs with low railings... All of those counted as one "fear," despite them being perhaps ridiculously more visible than most of those fears.

I'm not actually afraid of any living creature, although experience has taught me to get the heck out of the way of wolf spiders and wild mice. I'm really slack about bugs in my house, which I think weirds some people out. ;9

It's probably for the best I don't have kids, because I'm sure I'd be a hover-mom they'd spend years complaining to therapists about.

I don't have a lot of fears of specific things, but the fear of heights thing is pretty extreme (and I don't think it's terribly common). I'm not bothered by escalators, but it's definitely linked to the fear of airplanes thing, though they've made flying so goddam annoying nowadays, I'm not really so bad because I'm usually distracted by PTSD from the security check and the guy ahead of me reclining his chair into my knees. One thing that gets me, where ever we travel, there always seems to be an excuse to go up a mountain on one of those stupid cable car dealos.

Yeah, I definitely feel for you!

I'm not really bothered by flying, except for the fact that I just HATE it anyway. (I have the magical "whiny, seat-kicking toddler behind you EVERY TIME" curse, apparently.)

But escalators or stairs with low railings... *shudders* I think mine really is grounded a bit in my (imho sensible) fear of falling to my death. I'm so clumsy! Things that are enclosed, like, say, glass elevators are uncomfortable, but don't seem to trigger the complete freak-out that open heights do.
