Wall*E bits and twits
Jun. 28th, 2008 08:30 amAndrew Stanton is obviously as horrified by Rascal scooters as we are.
If you're tired of reading raves and want a good, pissy take on the movie, Salon's Stephanie Zacharek is here to oblige. (You'll probably have to go through an annoying site pass.) Though we'll have to admit, we agree with some of the reviewer's points (the second half storyline feels a bit disjointed), we fear she wouldn't have been Pleased unless this film had been instead a short subject produced in some Eastern European country and ending with Wall*E melted in a furnace.
Really adored EVE's itchy trigger finger. And the rest of the psychotic robot gang, especially Umbrella Guy. One regret is that the latter weren't further developed. Maybe in the director's cut?
Need to ask Boneboy if he's got a Hello Dolly soundtrack. "Put on your Sunday clothes when you feel down and out...." BTW, for the non theater queens amongst us, that's Michael "Phantom" Crawford singing.
