Dogs afoot

Just to prove that there's more to Tikistitch than little plastic toys, Star Wars worship and plushies (though, very little more to be quite honest), we present an outing across the Hood Canal, to celebrate The Frenchman's last day of vacation.

The intention was to drive south in order to go north, or so Mr. Tikistitch claimed. The Frenchman was getting annoyed, as this seemed to involve a lot of driving around in Costco parking lots, and a stop at the Tacoma Mall (of which we will detail later)

But then...

SQUEE!! Bison!

(Of course, Mr. Tikistitch and the Frenchman don't emit sounds as girlie as a "Squee," and instead vocalized its manly equivalent.)

We were startled to learn that Mr. Tikistitch's lifelong ambition is to own a bison ranch. The group consensus: Resolved, bison are BIG!

We then found our goal, Port Townsend (no relation to Pete), a lovely Victorian town located on the Olympic Peninsula. This quaint town is full of beautifully restored older buildings, such as the above, which Mr. Tikistitch urged us to photograph.

We contented ourselves picturing instead plastic Orcas,

dogs,

and bunnies!

Downtown Port Townsend seems to subsist entirely on a tchotchke-based economy.

We were a bit taken aback as Mr. Tikistitch revealed his lifelong ambition to buy a Victorian house move to Port Townsend. Particularly since we already live in a Victorian house. We snaked through the residential area to compare real estate prices. Egad! Sticker shock!!

Then it was off to Port Townsend's state park, home of a most adorable little lighthouse.

We looked in vain for Cousin Sparky, but were only able to picture this rather cute bouncing bunny rabbit.

"Ees zat way Canada?"

"Not, Canada is that way!"

The Frenchman regretted his last night in the USA, and compensated by walking around sulking moodily in picturesque sunsets.

We thus repaired to this restaurant for dinner, where we were made to understand why the mermaid mascot is on the portly side--the food was fantabulous. We highly recommend the breat pudding. And thus, we surrendered the Frenchman to the tender mercies of Northwest Airlines, to make his way back to Charvonnex, full of memories, and a full 5 kg heavier (mostly around the tummy).

Cool trip

Just a question about the bobagirl site though. ( the contact link did not work, so I am using this) I am a collector of Battle Angel Gunnm items and was wondering if you have knowledge of where might I purchase the Gunnm doll you have pictures of in your site ? I am a big fan and getting a hold of one would be great. :P

Oops, prolly better fix that. ::sheepish::

Yuppers, they had Gunnm dolls at Hobby Link Japan about a jillion years ago, only Tikistitch was too slow to get 'em then. I got mine from a Yahoo Japan auctions. There's lots of variations, too, so at least 6 to collect if you want 'em all.
