And we quote....

"Decorating a home library is a tough task, especially if you are short on books!"

(The linkie is to a web site that will sell you keen-looking leather-bound books as "decor" to cover those embarrassing blank patches on your bookcases. We refuse to link, go look it up if you're interested.)

We are shocked and appalled.

Does ANYBODY on tiki's FL suffer from being short on books????? Because, if that's so, a bunch of prop books won't fix your sad sad life!!!

*nods* I mean, it's somewhat our fault for filling the bookshelves with Star Wars bobbleheads, but, yeah, we inevitably have more book than case.

Many people feel that it's silly to purchase books for pure decorative value. While we certainly understand this, we also savor the opportunity to change the mind of such individuals! Our books are so beautiful on the outside that their interior ceases to be important.

WTF?

Hey Tiki ... yeah, I'm 'short on books'...

Not.

I could use more bookcases too ... but for that to happen, we'd need a new *house*.

This...This is an outrage! Why have a home library if you don't have any books? A place store dvds and cds and such? Then have a media room or something, but a home library sans REAL books is just wrong.

We do have some shelves that fail to be full of books, but that is because we have fossils and/or fossil replicas occupying precious book-space.

I am eagerly anticipating the commercial release of pocket dimensions where we can store all our collectibles and our less-beloved books (seriously why do we have L. Ron Hubbard books on our shelves in hardback noless).

Photobucket

Tammy would like to read the Cj Cherryh novels please.

My problem is that I've got a lot of books and the desire to buy more, but I'm really limited on space. I'm stashing them on wall shelves, probably not a good idea because of (book) weight issues. I even sell less desireable books or stuff I've given up reading to the used bookstore to clear up space on the shelves.

I've seen ads for these fake-book things for years. Evidently they're for people who want to LOOK like they like to read, but all those words in a row hurt their brain too much.

I'm pretty sure at some point, my book piles will destroy me. They're everywhere, on shelves, in boxes, in itty piles.

[though they best not- I recently disposed of 300 some of their compatriots at work. Wuhahaha!]

The question is why the HELL would someone have a freaking LIBRARY in their house if they didn't have BOOKS to put in it??

short on books? Bwaaaaah? Every shelf in the house (and it's technically four levels, counting the basement and loft) is loaded down with books. If I stopped work and just read for about 12 hours a day, I probably have enough to read for the next 20 years, yet I still buy new books all the time.

*sigh* ... addicted.

That doesn't even count my other collections - Stitch, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Egyptian, etc...
