These are called 3D puzzles. But, actually it's a scam.

Yup, instead of paying some poor 13-year-old in a factory in Asia to put these together, you do it yourself!

And, they call it a "puzzle."

Ask us some time about sudoku!

Anyways, here's the concept.

And, no, we're not gonna open all of 'em, 'cause we're just too darned lazy!

But anyways, you take the creepy-looking parts from the plastic, snap them together, do it wrong, try to pry them apart, break something, start to cry, look and see if you have a 9-year-old handy to help you.

... Oh geez. That really does look like a terrible excuse for a "puzzle". Not enough challenging fiddly bits to qualify as a model-kit... the construction is something I'd expect from a candy toy, but I'm guessing these were way more expensive?

I think I'm just really offended by the use of the word "puzzle", because to me, that implies some degree of educational (or edutainment) value. Shape and pattern recognition, that sort of thing.

I have some sympathy for the people who do Dizzney marketing in Asia. "OK, we got Stitch spark plugs, nasal decongestant, and disposable diapers.* WHAT ELSE?" I mean, I can see rationalizing some decomposed action figures, and calling them "puzzles."

*One of these is really true too.

Only one of them?!

Although now that I think about it, I'm not sure I've seen much in the way of nasal decongestants in the Japanese drugstores I've been to. It's kind of fascinating how drugstore-cultures differ... Japan was into all kinds of body spray deodorants way before AXE and whatnot, and at least in the 90s, you could find a variety of mouth-freshening fruit-scented sprays.

Just wait 'til they make the Stitch rectal thermometer.

'cause, y'know, there is a SpongeBob SquarePants talking rectal thermometer. Sold in the U.S., no less. Maybe it was you who originally posted about it; I forget.

I have time again tomorrow to do more translatin', by the way!

Heehee. I'm sure the Stitch thermometer, if it's not already here, is in the works. What I'm wanting are Lilo & Stitch vitamins, like the Flintstones.

YAY!!!!

Actually, it looks like some kind of Stitchified version of a Mega Bloks model kit. I'd love to own one of these, especially alien-bodysuit Stitch.

I got them from Strapya World, so, they were a teensy bit 'spensive, but they DO ship to the US!

I've heard a lot of good things about Strapya World, so I should check it out one of these days. ;)

What I really wish I could get was a plush of an experiment other than Stitch but they're very hard to come by and I doubt you'd sell one of yours to me (not that I wouldn't pay you a lot for it, I just don't wanna seperate your big plushie o'hana!)

I've screwed up and bought extra cousins before - I once traded an Angel fan for a couple of my surplus Angels. But, you kind of have to wait until I'm having a brain fart for that. I've seen Angel and Leroy popping up on eBay occasionally nowadays, so you might also try there. I've never seen 'em at a store, but I know Mr. Tiki has occasionally found Asian Stitch plushies in the import store downtown before, so who knows?

I've seen Angels at the Japanese store and bought as many as possible, but since they're so expensive and I barely go to that store...but it's worth it when I do! My parents said when we move to the new house I can get a giant Stitch/Angel plush set to put in my new room! The ones I would love to get, however, are experiments like 625, Sparky, 627, Swirly, Mr. Stenchy...the experiments they seem to have halted everything on! Of course I also hope that they'll import Leroy here, at least to that Jap store...
