Our last night at Star Wars Celebration, and Mr. Tikistitch is proffering a roll of silver tape. "QUICK!! You must help me wrap my legs in silver tape!"
But, but, whatever for, Mr. Tikistitch?

Mr. Tikistitch has decided to cosplay as BLUE SNAGGLETOOTH. For the non-collectors amongst ya, this is an action figure that was only available in the Cantina playset offered by the Sears catalog (remember them?). For whatever demented reason, Kenner toy designers had taken a dwarf-sized denizen of the Star Wars cantina, grown him up to full size, and added splashy silver disco boots to his outfit! Once angry fans protested this travesty, the original Blue Snaggletooth was discontinued, and replaced by the more movie-accurate Red Snaggletooth. The action figure, though fairly loopy, is now highly prized by collectors, of which Mr. Tikistitch is one.
Our pal Boneboy (he of the awesome General Grievous costume) kindly fashioned Mr. Tikistitch a helmet, and the remainder of the costume was blue scrubs, and hastily applied silver tape.
So, what would be the reaction?

Hysterical laughter.
Philip: "'Oly sheet!"

For the first time in his life, chris georgoulias is speechless.

Nichols: "OMG! OMG! KEEP him here 'til I get my camera!!"

Nichols gets his picture.
Then it's off to the Celebration at Celebration party.

The obligatory "Weird character walking through the shopping mall" shot.
To be continued.....

Date: 2005-04-25 09:45 am (UTC)Here's our sad Blue Snag story: a long time ago, Gus and his friends looked over some guy's action figure collection, with the intent to buy. He didn't have much of anything, EXCEPT a blue snag. They explained that it was rare, however, the silver paint on the boots had worn off in several places, thus decreasing the value.
The next day, the collectors returned to make a purchase. The blue snag owner proudly showed off his figure: overnight, he had *touched up* the worn places with silver paint!! *facepalm*
