You can generally recognize kaminari-sama the thunder god/oni by his animal-print shorts-or-loincloth, poufy afro, and nubby little head-horn. Other oni (demon or ogre depending on your translation) often wear animal-print loincloth and also have spiked clubs and poky horns, but I think kaminari-sama is the only one portrayed as having poufy hair. Although the poufy-hair thing may specifically be related to comedian Takagi Buu's depiction of Kaminari-sama...
