The site is focused on a traveling exhibit of art pieces that have run afoul of intellectual property law.

They're offering for sale through the site a DVD-R including Todd Haynes' fabled SUPERSTAR: THE KAREN CARPENTER STORY, a documentary filmed entirely with Barbie dolls.

They also have...a magazine named after a maxi pad!!

Have you seen SUPERSTAR? It's an intriguing piece, even after the novelty of using Barbie dolls has worn off. Although the use of dolls is commentary of its own... It's been a while but I believe there are some live action re-enactment shots at the end (other than the real performance footage dotting the documentary). It's tough to make a doll pick up a bottle of IPECAC :P

I saw a *really* crappy copy a loooooong time ago. I tried to DL the copy on the site last night, but it bombed. They have another disturbing video featuring a Barbie doll that I hadn't seen before--something like "Barbie's Audition."

Have you ever seen one called something like "Ken vs. GI Joe?" They had it at a toy show many years ago. Would love to get a copy.

I haven't heard of "Barbie's Audition." I've yet to look at the site but the title alone reminds me of the Japanese movie "Audition." I've vaguely heard of that Ken/GIJoe feature but haven't seen that either. Any idea what it's about?

Speaking of other banned films, I saw a documentary where they cut together sattelite feed of politicians and other people with considerable amounts of power waiting to go on air. So you see them sleeping, picking their noses, talking to themselves, cursing for no apparent reason.
