Lucasfilm sues Gen Con

There's some big news that just came onto the radar: Lucasfilm is suing Gen Con over issues with Celebration IV! While the case is stamped January 10th, this is the first I've heard anything about it. You can read the full complaint but here are the allegations.

1. Gen Con failed to uphold its legal obligations in terms of financial reporting, accounting and payments to Lucasfilm ($500,000 in damages)
2. Gen Con did not give auction proceeds to Make-A-Wish as they had agreed to do ($150,000 in damages)
3. Gen Con did not give Lucasfilm their share of the auction proceeds ($150,000 in damages)
4. Gen Con did this all unjustly ($150,000 in damages)

For those who aren't lost in Nerdland, Gen Con are the folks you have to deal with when you're trying to book a hotel room at a Star Wars Celebration. They run the Cons for Lucasfilm.

And, Gen Con stole money from cancer kids.

Little bald cancer kids.

Jeez, they stole from Cancer kids? And all with items that came from the Lucasfilm *archives* with the primary purpose of raising money for said cancer kids? That the people who paid to go to your Con bought to help out cancer kids? Screwing over the company responsible for the entire reason you're having your Convention is pretty shaddy, but jeez, it's a pretty dark soul who'd screw over Make-A-Wish.

What scumbags! Of course, not a word on their site anywhere, no press release, no response, nuthin'. That's despicable.
