Since this has been brought up in comments, we must herewith devote some space to the most glorious factor that distinguishes the Disney parks we remember as a child, and that we experience as an adult:

BOOZE!

These pix are from the glorious Sci Fi cafe in the Hollywood Studios part of the park. The concept is a drive in movie theater showing only the very cheapest, cheesiest bitlets of the worst pickings of the 1950s. Also, since most everybody is seated facing the screen, you don't even have to talk to your seatmates, which is handy if you don't much like them, PLUS, more effort to put into your drinking.

These mild-mannered milkshakes actually have two kinds of awesome added: booze, plus they glow!!

Dizzney + alcohol = FUN!

I have seen that icon so many times, but I falied to see the light. Now, I am a believer. Kahlua milkshakes + Earth vs. the Flying Saucers = awesome.

Yeah, if I remember, I think you get to keep the plastic glowing ice cubes as souvenirs.

They taste like frosty, frosty chock'lit shakes. With rum or kahlua or something. Plus awesome.

And you know what would have been EVEN MORE AWESOME?

Margaritas with Stitch!!

Seriously, they should start the Ohana Happy Hour. It was my idea, but they can totally use it.

Zomygohd, Sci Fi Dine In! That's got to be one of my favourite places in the whole world, let alone WDW! (I went to Disney World, never been to any of the other parks - if there's an identical Sci Fi Dine In at Disney*land*, I've never been there!)
Eat the cheese and spinach dip. NOW.
Actually, I have a photo from the Sci Fi Dine in on my livejournal as well.

I don't believe they have anything like it at Dizzyland. We didn't know anything about it, but were dragged there by friends. It's just awesome - I wish there was one in my neighborhood, 'cause I'd go there every week!!

I've been meaning to say this for days, but we ate there! It was notable, as it was the only theme eatery we went to when I was little. Aww, maybe this is where my love of cheesy 50s retro began.

I was far too young for booze, though. Damnit. Now I want a boozey milkshake... O_o
