You may consider us officially creeped out now.

Creepiest part: Pretty sure the example they have at the bottom is Miyu, a 10 year old girl from the "is it cute or is it pedophiliac?" anime Strawberry Marshmallow. I worked on the subtitles for that series and still feel intensely conflicted over it.

Do people *need* subtitles with their H? Just strikes as people who buy Playboy "for the articles."

Strawberry Marshmallow falls into the category of "heartwarming comedy depicting the surreal within everyday life" anime. The contents are no more scandalous than, say, a Judy Blume novel or sitcom about middle school kids...

...except when you stop and think about the fact that Strawberry Marshmallow is serialized in a manga magazine for teen to 30-something gamers and anime fans, rather than marketed at the children that it depicts. This context makes me feel a little uncomfortable. The series is mostly "aw, little girls having fun and dealing with their day to day problems", and even the potentially inappropriate bathing scenes are tempered a bit with fart jokes. As long as I don't think about the series' presumable target audience...

So is it something that falls under "moe" then?

The mask bit didn't freak me out as much as the full body suit part....

Okay that Tyra big eyed photo was funny on that one site, but every time I see someone wearing one of those heads in real life it just is strange. I've seen them in a couple different places and still just is bizarre.

Plus I don't think it's true cosplaying. My friends that cosplay put so much time, effort and money into bringing characters to life, and these masks just seem to make the characters 3d, like being at Dizzeyland.

Just my take on it. Plus the fact you don't know who really is in there...

This is on the same creepiness level as Realdolls. Just backwards... (human beins inside full-body doll suits vs. realistic sexual toy dolls)...

I always thought 'Dolling' was adorable! Maybe it's just the me that wants to see anime characters come to live that's saying that, though (and I'm not even a big anime fanatic)?
