tikistitch...What we're doing 'cause the server is still busted.
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? Went to Mongolia yay! (See below.)
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No and no.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yup, sis-in-law.
4. Did anyone close to you die? Officemate's mom just died, so not really close to me, but close to someone I see all day every day.
5. What countries did you visit? Aha! England, Latvia, Russia, Mongolia and China!
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? More vacation time, not that I lacked it, it's just too dear.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Hmm. Maybe July 11, 'cause that's when we started out on the "tikis go round the world" tour.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? The "tikis go round the world 2007 tour."
9. What was your biggest failure? Didn't clobber that screaming Russian waitress on the Trans Siberian, although the cook probably would have sliced me.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I'm sick now! *cough*
11. What was the best thing you bought? The Stitchie key holder thingies. Because it was in Outer Mongolia. OUTER FREAKING MONGOLIA, DUDE!!!!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Keith Olbermann. I must have my Keith, every day.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? George Bush, who managed to surpass even my low expectations. Also, an appalling number of residents of Moscow - listen guys, you may parade around in Dior sunglasses, but oil money doesn't make it any less gross to spit on the sidewalk. Like, ew.
14. Where did most of your money go? Quite honestly, our money goes to buying Casa de Tikistitch. But the fun money went to little furry blue things.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Seeing Moscow. The whole trip was insanely good, but ever since I was a teen, I've been a big fan of Commie kitsch. Was really lovely to see the ex-Soviets treat it with the mocking it always deserved.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007? "Radio Nowhere" by The Boss. We listen to a lot of music, but this track really kept us sane. EDIT: Forgot, Foux da Fa Fa, Business Time, If You're Into It, and about half dozen other extremely silly Conchords songs.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier!
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner, 40 lbs.
iii. richer or poorer? Dunno about $$$$, but we're richer in toys, which is the best!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Travel. Want to see Japan again, and get to several places in SE Asia, like Thailand, and want to see Africa & go on a safari and see elephants and lions, and see the tigers in Ind-ja, and the like.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? *sigh* Cleaning house, but I suppose it can't be helped.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? Opening presents for *me*!!!!!
21. Did you fall in love in 2007? Um, I'm still in love with my sweetie-heart, Mr. Tikistitch. ♥♥♥♥♥ Does that count?
22. How many one-night stands? Like, none. Ew.
23. What was your favorite TV program(s)? tiki spends way too much of her life worshipping the idiot box. Extras. Flight of the Conchords. Heroes. Sopranos (sigh). Big Love. Project Runway. Top Chef. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Top Gear. Dr. Who (yeah, we're getting addicted). America's Next Top Model (AKA, "It's All About Tyra Banks")
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Let's see, Bush, Cheney, David Brooks...nah, same guys.
25. What was the best book you read? My best book is always the one I'm currently reading, but the one I've nearly finished, Christopher Hitchens' God Is Not Great, is pretty darned awesome, so I'll choose that one. Snitchens is a wanker, but boy can he write.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Gotta be Flight of the Conchords. Yeah, they're a novelty band, but I'm still listening to The Lumberjack Song after all these years, so there.
27. What did you want and get? Even more odd themed Lilo & Stitch products, like the diapers and a mini fridge. Japan rocks.
28. What did you want and not get? That crazy hamster vehicle from Kawaii! Jenny. But since they're issuing the dolls, maybe they'll get to it.
29. What was your favorite film of this year? Lilo & Stitch! Why should I have to pick a new one?
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I don't remember. On both counts. :-)
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Bush. Cheney. War Crimes charges. The Hague.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007? Squid! Squid t-shirt, squid thermal, squid hoodie, and I need to get Cthulhu barrettes and I'll be set.
33. What kept you sane? My Lilo & Stitch brand Thorazine from Japan!
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? "Fancy" in the English sense of want to boink them? OK, is it weird for a straight woman to have a girl crush on Rachel Maddow? She's so smart!
35. What political issue stirred you the most? The whole deal where we stil have to fight to teach Evolution in the schools. Like, evolution? It's like having to fight about whether to teach gravity.
36. Who do you miss? Molly Ivins.
37. Who was the best new person you met? They don't technically count as "new," but hadn't ever gotten to hang out with travel buddies Andy & Alyssa before, and they're super-cool. And, since they're brother and sister, they count as one.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007: Everywhere you go in the world, the beer is better than in the USA.

I still don't get what that whole runway show was about. It was very strange, especially Tyra's entrance. I turned it off once they announced the winner. Just bleh.
