Snow! Which means it's time for tiki's favorite-est wintertime leisure activity.....

Watching idjits spin out on John St. yay!

(OK, so we're easily amused. But, just because you bought a ginormous 4 wheel drive doesn't mean you automatically know how to start your car on an icy incline, know what we mean?)

No?? The idiots here get the idea that 4WD gives them immunity from the laws of physics!! It *IS* amusing to watch them get disabused of that notion when they attempt to stop... The challenge is when you have to go out you must try and stay out of the way of said idiots!!

Last sunday we were on the highway driving back home and it snowed, which melted & then refroze on the highway. We passed 6 vehicles that slid off the road, all 4WDs! I felt like CHEERING everytime I passed one!! ^0^

At least, living here, I can KIND OF excuse people not knowing how to drive in snow. It's why they can't drive in *rain* either that really throws me.

You know what's weird?

There's a street almost IDENITCAL looking to John St. behind my childhood pediatrician's office. Identical houses and everything. For the record, I'm in Bama. I just thought it was interesting. Small world. X3

Oh, that's funny! Lots o' Victorians there? We just love old houses, so we're in an older part of the city.

Squee, snow in Seattle! I sort of wish it would snow here, though it would be disastrous. It's been so cold that I just want to hibernate.

Oh, it's disastrous *here* as well. We told them in Chicago last week that if we had as much snow here as they got over there (basically a light dusting) they'd basically close the city. Except, of course, where Mr. Tiki and I work!

Yeah, they shut the whole city down when I lived there for the big storm of 1996-97.

I know I could use a snow day or six right about now.

It's a lovely thought! However, as a practical matter, last time the town froze over, my boss literally slid into work on her butt, and expects all to do the same. And back when I was a little grad student, well, someone had to come in every day to feed the rats!
