So, our iPod is dying. Because, we have one of those ancient iPods with the sucktastic batteries that there was a class action lawsuit about.

We whined to Mr. Tikistitch that we can no longer listen to The Boss on the busride to work. Because, yanno, they won't play The Boss on the radio any more. Because radio these days is even more sucktastic than iPod batteries.

As we always do, we whined to our spouse.

"You need an iPod Touch."

No, we insisted, we most certainly do not need an iPod Touch.

"You need an iPod Touch," our spouse insisted.

No, we don't.

"Have you seen an iPod Touch?"

Er, actually, no.

"This is an iPod Touch."

We were like, ZOMG INTARNETS!

We need an iPod Touch dudes.

A very smart marketing ploy for Apple.

They realized most people have a substantial amount of time left on their cellphone contracts. Also there are some (like me) who have had personal experience with AT&T and realize how SUCK-tacular their service is.

so, WHOMP, there it is...

...an iphone, without the phone!!

Brilliant!!

You're going to LOVE it, I just updated to an iPod touch from an ancient almost 4 year old 3G iPod (the one with no colors at all and the 4 orange buttons) and I have to say it is amazing it is the best thing ever (Except little flaws, pointed out on my blog --> rants.elmycdesign.net) Of course you're going to have to free it from apple's claws (a.k.a. jailbreak it, ask me if you need more info on it) with the jailbreak you get calendar edits (from iphone), notes(from iphone), mail(from iphone), and a bunch of other cool apps including the Super nintendo emulator (the best one). GET IT GET IT GET IT

(Yes I am a proud Apple freak, and yes I like to type with lots of parenthesis :P)

Oh, interesting read! Yeah, I'm like you, I like a real clear volume control. I use my current iPod in my car sometimes, and you have to crank the volume WAY up for it to work, so every time I switch to just listening over headphones, I end up having to pop off the headphones because it's WAY TOO LOUD. But it sounds like a neat device. I'm an Apple freak too, it's just I've sometimes had bad luck with the hardware--we've had a couple of iMacs go out, and there's the stupid iPod battery.
