In case you're one of those women who spent 5th grade dreaming about what color fresias you'd carry when you one day had your dreamy foofy dress wedding (we doubt there's anyone on our FL who qualifies, but just so), please be aware that tiki has little use for weddings, and in fact, even skipped her own (the tiki's eloped, and then scaped to Barcelona for a quite awesome honemoon). HOWEVER, we spent this past weekend attending a commitment ceremony that was, to our taste, actually not bad at all, and as it concerned two of the adorable-est people we know (who are nice even for Canadians!!!), we had a fairly splendid time.

A fairly cute piccy of the wedding party. TattooShane and MyLittleKarlee are in the middle, along with their "Maid of Honor Guy" and "Best Man Girl."

This is actually the post-cut cake. MLK, who's a baker, actually whipped it up by her lonesome, though she did borrow the stormtroopers from her new spouse. It was chocoloate brownie flavor. Yum. The day after the big party, we confessed to the bride that we spend a great chunk of our time north o' the border buying Nestle Smarties, which, sadly, are not available in the Lower 48. She responded, "Smarties? They're like M&Ms. Only better." Which is exactly what we've been trying to tell Mr. Tikistitch for approximately the last 547 years!!!

Check out the groom's belt buckle. The day before, he assued us, "Oh, there will hardly be any Star Wars at all!"

Most of y'all have no clue who these people are, but it was totally strange to see us all dressed up 'n stuff. They axed us to be kinda casual, so as a consequence, this is probably the first wedding outfit we've worn in our life that we actually might get to wear again somewhere when we feel like "girling up." Oh, want to be impressed by the nice-itude? Almost all the people in the photo were actually staying with TS and MLK in their not-huge townhouse the night before the wedding, eating all their cereal and traumatizing their poor cat (who suffers from a kind of kitty antisocial personality disorder). That's Elvis Trooper (out of uniform) next to Mr. Tiki.

Luis poses with the one and only Elvis Trooper. Elvis was MC-ing the reception. He's actually super-nice--he gave us a 501st Legion patch and an Elvis Trooper collectible card!

The wedding gifts. Why didn't we think of getting them a giant voodoo skull??

Boo!

Wanted to end with a romantic shot: John + Chris 4 EVAR! hahaha! Actually, they weren't just getting all romantic by the waterfall, they were contemplating the muscle guys who were having a little convention downstairs. I asked the Star Wars guys if they wanted to challenge the Muscle Guys to a rumble, but they demurred.

We have more pictures, but that's probably enough for now, huh?

I totaly just saw smarties for the first time tonight at World Market, which is like a chain store of import furniture and foods (and wines). I thought they were sweet tart type candies, so I passed on them. They had other Nestle candies as well. Any other sugestions?

There's two totally different kinds of candy called "Smarties"--the kind we have in the US is basically sugar, and they *do* come in a tart flavor. The Nestle Smarties are only sold outside the US, and they're chocolate. Like M&Ms. Only better.

You can also find Aero bars in Canada--I think they have some in the US, but not as many varieties. The other thing I really look for in Canada, in terms of stuff that's Bad For You, isn't really candy, but the little tea biscuits.

They totaly were the chocolate kind though. They had the Aero bars as well, and some sort of milk bar. I've had the american smarties, thats why I asumed they were some sort of sweet tart type candy. They came in a dark blue colored cardboard type tube. Rainbow colored round candies pictured on the front. And then the Aero bar looked like a regular chocolate bar with bubbles or something coming out of it. Here you can check for the store in your area.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought to look at Cost Plus before. The times when I've been in the local stores before, they've only had wicker-y Pier One type stuff, but maybe they have more food.

I also see you can get Smarties through a dealer on Amazon! If you hadn't tried 'em before, definitely get a roll and see what you think.

Ayup. Cost Plus has food ... and beer ... and wine!!! And they carry Canadian, English & some Australian sweets/treats. However, not those damn Cherry Ripe bars. :-P

I've seen Aero bars here! But not chocolate Smarties.

Looks like a fun wedding (and for me, "fun" and "wedding" are two words that normally do not ever go into the same sentence together)--you gotta lot a wedding with all that tattoo ink! And Elvis Trooper is awesome!

I understand they're not technically allowed to sell Nestle Smarties in the US because of that other candy that goes by Smarties. They oughta just rename them "dummies" or something.

Elvis Trooper is pretty fabulous, and he's also an awfully nice guy. AND he's even a collector, so he's even one of us. He was showing Mr. Tikistitch pictures of all his totally obscure Star Wars lunchboxes.

Tikistitch's outfit is totally cool and something that I would wear. And I want the boots to go with it!

Elvis Trooper. I love him so very, very much. I used to say that the only reason I would ever bother to go through a wedding ceremony myself was if I could have Elvis officiate. Now if Mr. Elvis Trooper can perform a service I might have to get me a husband. (*shudder*)

This is the first time I've ever bought an outfit for a wedding that I might actually like to wear again! I've been wearing the boots, even though I look like a total fool tapping around in them, because they're just *so* cute.

They wanted Elvis Trooper to officiate at the ceremony, but I guess Canadians frown (politely!) on that kind of thing. But, he's a most excellent MC. Definitely worth tying the knot for!!
