Siberia, ho!

So, train to Siberia starts tomorrow. We had to pick up tix at the Soviet era hotel, Kosmos. It's across from what used to be the cosmonaut memorial museum (which is evidently closed for a refurbishment), so it's all space themed. Though, we're not sure what the deal is with de Gaulle out front.

Had to pick up our tix at Ye Olde Intourist agency. They're the old Commie outfit, but now a registered trademark (see the little "R" dealie? My how things have changed). Much less bureaucratic than we had feared. We spent the most time not showing passports or getting the right stamps, but having the nice lady explain which train platform and subway stop we needed.

Check out the hotel bar. The boys were amused.

Named after Yuri Gagarin--is he still around?

Here's the site of the museum. Unfortunately, it's just a construction site right now. Maybe next time we'll get check out the Commie astronaut dudes.
BTW, we're just guessing, but we'd say there's prolly no WiFi on the TransSiberia Express. So, no intarnets for tiki 'til at least Ulan Batar.
