Actually, given that we don't see any sake (or ball sacs) these might just be chipmunks.





They've got leaves on their little heads, little crossed out belly buttons, and stripey tails, which leads us to believe they're mythical creatures. (Er, as if Stitch and Angel weren't mythical enough.)

They're tanuki. Tanuki put leaves on their head and do a backflip to transform, and their bellybuttons tend to be Xs as they drum on their bellies.

The tail-striping is really nice and subtle on these guys!

Foxes may also do the leaf thing, but they'd probably be depicted with pointy ears and white-tipped tails if they were meant to be foxes.

Oh, thankee! I knew from you about the belly buttons, but couldn't figure out the deal with the leaf. I should remember to read the auction descriptions, but sometimes it seems like the sellers are unclear as well.

I think the leaves and striped tails mean they're definitely tanuki. Just ... sanitized tanuki. XD
