Before Volks offered frightfully expensive limited edition Super Dollfie versions of Suiseiseki and Souseiseki from Rozen Maiden, they produced an even more limited doll of Shinku.

Given that, since they were announced, we've been fantasizing about purchasing the twins, we've also let our brain wander out into that joyful territory where we also happen upon, and purchase, the original Shinku.

Well, as Eminiem says, oops, there goes gravity. SD Shinku actually showed up on Yahoo Japan auctions this week.

For 600,000 yen.

And she's already got a bid. (She had a bid yesterday--from a buyer with no feedback. We will continue to monitor the situation.)

Just for gravity's sake, it was for approximately that amount, back in 1992, that we purchased our beloved '88 Honda Civic. We were a newly minted PhD, and in the middle of our first (and last) ill-paying academic job. We had to spend many an evening subsisting on ramen noodles to make the payments.

The Civic still runs. The odometer reads well over 100,000 miles now. It's taken us to LA. It's taken us to the Grand Canyon. It's taken us back and forth to Noxon, Montana, half a dozen times. It's gone on mad daytrips down to Portland, and up to Vancouver. It's hauled futon frames, leaf bags, IKEA cabinets, three full-sized Lilo & Stitch surfboards, and transported Philip's impossibly large "Predateur" bust--so large we had to roll down the window to fit it--to the airport. It still sits loyally in the driveway at Casa de Tikistitch, awaiting new duties.

And, that's what they want for Shinku?

Damn.

Oh wow. At least, um, the 600000 yen includes free shipping within Japan? (Although the seller's info says they live overseas. Weird.)

The seller also has several bad feedback, which seems *really* odd for a Yahoo Japan seller.

Oh man. I know Yahoo Japan lets you edit the feedback from Bad to Good if things are settled in a satisfactory manner... with at least one of the negative feedbacks, it looks like they posted a retaliatory neg and tried to bully the buyer into changing the Bad feedback to Good. Eeegh.

Oh, eeenteresting! Usually when they have any bad feedback on Yahoo J, at least from what I can tell from a crappy translation program, it's because they ended an auction early and Yahoo just automatically gave them a ding. It seems like it's still pretty rare to meet a genuine eBay-style creep.

I've seen my fair share of Yahoo!Japan feedback drama. The seller has to be pretty damn bad for it to end with Bad feedback... I've seen feedback sequences where it starts as Good, jumps to Bad or Very Bad as the buyer finds flaws, and then bops back to "Neutral" if the seller and buyer stop screaming at each other and sort things out.

Yahoo!Japan lets you ban people with ANY negative feedback from bidding on your auctions, so that probably nips the really bad problems in the bud (or pressures people to find an amicable solution that results in neutral or better feedback).

Wow. She looks really adorable, but over $4k?? Gawdamn. I envy the people with enough spending money to do that. It was all I could do to save up for my Anais and I'm still broke over that @__@;;

PS - Have you seen her? I want her so bad!

OOOOOOO! Purple!! Do they actually supply the bow this time? Or are they more lying scumbags??

LoL! Yes, the bow is supplied, as well as the hand parts to hold it ;) If you scroll to the third picture down, it lists what she comes with. Though I'm not sure if "charged option" means you pay extra for all that or if it's included with the doll...
