If you haven't visited Japan, you may not be familiar with an awfully nice custom: people with colds tend to wear little face masks, so as not to cover the healthy persons with their various horrible germs. Of course, given the Japanese mania for licensing, and the fact that little kids are particularly prone to runny noses, thus we have...the official Lilo & Stitch sterile face mask!

Here's another kind, with a jaunty "Aloha!" on it.

Date: 2007-05-11 06:56 am (UTC)Wearing the surgical type mask is a typical gang trait in Japan and South Korea. (This is why one of the rabbit gang members in SamBakZa's "Cake Dance" animation has a surgical mask on. You also see one on some gang kids in a scene of the popular Fruits Basket manga.)
If you haven't seen SamBakZa's animations, you must. Part 3 of the story is due soon. But watch parts 1 and 2 for now...

So cute, and match the music so well, and tell the story so well without any dialogue, and the second one in particular has so many subtleties between the characters (a couple of which were seen briefly in the first part).
