Fashionista!

So, we wrote about getting this sweater at American Apparel a couple weeks back. As you may recall, we were thrilled to see it available in colors, whereas the web site only advertised basic black. Anyways, we found one in blue in our size (ie, blobby thighs) and tried it on, and after satisfying the non-suckiness thereof, returned to the rack, where we also grabbed one in grey because, well, you can't really go wrong with grey, can you? (Well, actually, tiki can, and has, but it's a relatively idiot-proof hue.)
However, after we got home, we noticed that the grey sweater had these funky kinda bright greeny buttons, as opposed to, you know, grey-colored, as we'd assumed. (This is not a new shopping experince for tiki, who was born sadly lacking a fashion bone.) The blue sweater, which we'd actually kinda looked at, featured to our eyes appropriately same-colored buttons. This switcheroo defeated the purpose of buying a can't go wrong neutral color, but we figured someone infinitely more fashionable (or at least gayer) than ourselves had made the determination. So we were like, "Eh, whatever."
So, anyway, so, we wore the grey one in today, because it doesn't look bad with the slouch boots. And ran into the office Clothes Horse. She is Italian. No, not Italian-American, but an Italian expat. Yes, that fashionable. As we spoke, though, our tension mounted as CH oddly stared in the direction of our midsection. We immediately thought, "OMG chicken soup stains!" which puzzled, as we had not eaten chicken soup at lunch. But she finally exclaimed, "You have CONTRASTING BUTTONS!"
It took us a moment to understand, but from the approval in her tone, we suddenly realized, our green buttons represent a feature, not a bug! We tried desperately to act au courant. And probably failed miserably. But felt vaguely fashionable for the next 30 seconds.
