So, Stitchie gots his little carp flaggie. Looks like we're celebratin' Boys Day, yay!

We're actually a little early for Kodomo no hi, which is actually not 'til May. Though, we dunno, is there any kind of supersition like with Girls Day if you leave the decorations out too long you'll never marry off your boys?

Don't think so. The Boys Day dolls are called "Gogatsu Ningyo" (May dolls), so I assume they're allowed to be out all May.

Ooo, they actually call them "dolls," and not something silly, like action figures?

It probably helps that the Japanese word for doll is literally "human shape". So it doesn't quite have the same connotations as the English word "doll"... although adult-oriented collectibles do use terminology like "figure" or "movable figure". Because, apparently, something is more legitimate if you use the ENGLISH word.
