LaBeouf to star in new `Indiana Jones'

LOS ANGELES (AP) — After months of building Internet buzz, this can finally be reported as fact: Shia LaBeouf has been cast in the upcoming "Indiana Jones" movie.

Producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg announced Friday that LaBeouf will appear alongside Harrison Ford in the fourth installment of the adventure franchise, scheduled for release May 22, 2008. Production is set to begin in June.

We understand this undertaking had to begin during the ever-decreasing timespan before Harrison Ford is well and truly confined to adult diapers.

But...the Even Stevens guy?

We knew River Phoenix. We slunk into discos with River Phoenix. We shot speedballs with River Phoenix.

You, Shia LaBeouf, are no River Phoenix!*

I love Shia but even I'm sceptical about this. Although he has grown up a lot lately.
But still, it seems a bit too much what with him being in a whole slew of films coming out recently... Am looking forward to Transformers though!

I saw a Transformers preview and thought, "Goddam, this looks good!!!" But, I've been fooled by previews before.

I can't believe he's going to be in Transformers, or even as Cody the penguin in Surf's Up.

Hell, I was surprised that he was at SouthxSouthwest last March.
