Good points:

  • Able to decipher fine print on Stitchie butt tags again yays!

  • Pleasant feeling of mild drunkenness

Bad points:

  • Unable to keep track of feet during critical maneuvers such as stepping off curbs--oopsie!

I had glasses like that for a year.. the UC Berkeley eye center made my prescription too high and I had issues walking up and down stairs even after getting used to them.

Your frames are very nice though! =) You remind me that I need to get my eyes examined again.. it's been too long and I really hate the contacts I have as they are only available from the UC Berkeley eye center or order online I really don't like that since I'm used to getting them at Costco for cheap. I'm down to my last pair... and my prescription is expired. bleh! I really really want to change brands. TMI

but you look marvehlous! I hope the fitting they gave you works out for you... be careful with staris and driving ok??

Ha! I've been forbidden to drive for the next couple days, so as long as I keep holding on to the handrail....

Oddly, stairs haven't been a problem, maybe because I usually look down, whereas curbs I'm usually watching for SUVs trying to run me over.

Let me guess...the lenses and frames throw off your perception while maneuvering stairs? I have the same problem. Just make sure you watch your step and always grab the handrails.

E-yup. I usually have some distortion problems whenever I get a new Rx, but this one's done something to the location of the ground. Will probably swap out to my old frames when we go running for a while.

They look really nice~ and really suit your face ^^ pretty color too!

They seem to be a 'lil low though, maybe that is why you are having problems? Make sure their are in the right position on your face, the optician should make sure of that when dispensing~ It could be the angle of the glasses, the size of the lenses, etc. That happens a lot with new prescriptions. Also, the material might be different from your previous glasses, too many different ones on the market which can make indiduals feel dizzy, etc.

The adjustment to a new prescription varies but should be around 3hrs if that does not change you should go back and ask more questions. It's safer to change to your old glasses~ I hope that helps a bit ^^

These are progressive lenses, the first I've had, and according to my opthamologist, and to several friends who've tried them, they actually take a couple weeks to get fully used to. The eye doc also warned me that a lot of people *never* get used to them, and have to exchage for something more "normal." So, I checked at my optician first, and they're exchangeable.

Thanks for the info! ^_^ I'll see about getting them adjusted next week if I'm still feeling dizzy--the optical place is a couple blocks from where I work. She told me she didn't want to make them too tight to start out with. I hope I can get adjusted, since the eye doc recommended since I'm basically blind as a bat, it would be a good thing to try, since it's only gonna get worse!
