As we might have noted before, tiki will be volunteering at Star Wars Celebration IV in LA next month. We just officially faxed in our forms, and, being marginally obsessive-compulsive, were reading the fine print on the Volunteer Information Page when we happened upon this nugget:

Volunteer and Event Team t-shirts must be worn during the work shift, unless you are volunteering in a Star Wars costume that is appropriate for your shift. Volunteer t-shirts cannot be worn off-duty (except for break periods) and must never be worn in bars/nightclubs.

Well, okay, maybe Slave Leia, if you'll be working the babysitting station. Point taken.

I was going to suggest Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper could be inappropriate if you're working babysitting. Then it occured to me that if the kids' parents are geeky enough to go to a Star Wars convention, the kid has probably been desensitized to big scary masks.

However, I would say a JarJar Binks costume is inappropriate in ANY situation.

We have a new employee in my office who is a self-avowed Star Wars geek. She has a cat named Padme. She has another cat named Jar Jar. Poor kitty.
