Stop me before I meme again!!!
Feb. 10th, 2005 06:21 pm1. Total amount of music files on your computer:
18.26 Gigs (that's 14.1 days).
2. The last CD you bought was:
Robyn Hitchcock - Spooked
3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?
Lawyers, Guns, and Money - The Wallflowers version, from Enjoy Every Sandwich, the Music of Warren Zevon
4. Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
Only 5? Eh.
1. I See a Darkness - Johnny Cash. One of the scariest songs I know, in it's scariest version. I could actually list all 5 as Cash songs. Cash rules. His interpretations of songs have gotten me into a lot of aritists I've criminally ignored 'til now. R.I.P.
2. I Want You Back - The Jackson 5ive. Their first, and still their best. Motown doesn't get any purer.
3. Heffalups and Woozles - from Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day. As with J. Cash, I could make a list that was exclusively Disney music. This is one I associate with a psychedelic cartoon interlude when I was a kid.
4. Waters Part - Let's Active. My favorite obscure song from my favorite obscure band. I got to see Mitch & the girls perform back in the daze. They were the poufiest band around.
5. Sister I Need Wine - Guided by Voices. Why wasn't Isolation Drills a top 40 record, instead of Britney Spears and her screechy ilk? There is no justice.
5. Who are you going to pass this stick to? (3 persons) and why?
1. Anita, 'cause she's my bestest friend
2. ellen, 'cause she listens to the coolest music
3. and LJ, 'cause I dig randomness

Date: 2005-02-10 07:09 pm (UTC)Yup. I grew up in Winston-Salem, and, though well after he was there, attended the same high school. I was out with my then-boyfriend for coffee and dessert, and overheard the people next to us discussing the recent Breeders record. I jumped into the conversation, mentioning that I'd recently bought it and was enjoying it. Only later did we realize "oh, shit, I totally interrupted Mitch Easter."
