Bambicrony hell

So, a followup on the cutie blue dolls, for y'all who were wondering about the Enchanting World of BJDs.
Anyways, after a bunch of trouble trying to navigate the Bambicrony site yesterday (it seems to like to crash Safari), and a couple of orders placed and then cancelled, tiki finally ordered what she thought was the blue Kumi in the picture. And, being a good collector, sent payment.
However, after receiving expert email advice from buddy
Well, as it happens, you can't cancel your Bambi order any more once you've paid. Drat. So, we wrote to Bambicrony customer service (once again, after crashing our web browser a couple of times), to see if we could just upgrade to a doll w/teensy arrows, which was also available on the site at that time.
We kept checking for an answer all night, despite many times crashing Safari, grrrr.
They finally wrote back this morning to say, sorries, the doll with clothes is now sold out! Which, she was. ARRRRGH!!!
(A bit of a crock, as we all know, since they're the company that MAKES the frickin' dolls, but we're all obsessed over limited editions, so there.)
Anyways, since we were feeling cranky, we wrote back for them to just cancel everything, and send us our monies back. Fortunately, we paid by credit card, so if they're jerks about it, we'll just cancel payment.
So, no blue dollies for tiki. S'O.K., we'll just buy more Stitchies. We still might pick up a Kumi on the secondary market, though given how 'spensive it is to order direct, that's not likely.

I read somewhere on the forums that the quiver and bow wasn't included anyway. So maybe it's a good thing you didn't get it?

I didn't realize the bow wasn't included. Reminds me of that Volks dollie, Jun, who was shown with the cutie plush toy--and then it turned out she didn't actually come with the plushie. I actually decided not to order because of that. I know--very silly.

Date: 2007-02-15 05:21 am (UTC)And yeah, I understand, it's just a big deterant for me since I'm not a big poster :( I know they say go to the gallery and comment on people's dolls to increase your post count, but that's easier said than done for someone on dial-up.
That's actually not silly at all, haha. Several times I've passed up on buying something because they include something in the picture that seems to be part of the purchase, then you find out it's not. It's lame.
