So, a followup on the cutie blue dolls, for y'all who were wondering about the Enchanting World of BJDs.

Anyways, after a bunch of trouble trying to navigate the Bambicrony site yesterday (it seems to like to crash Safari), and a couple of orders placed and then cancelled, tiki finally ordered what she thought was the blue Kumi in the picture. And, being a good collector, sent payment.

However, after receiving expert email advice from buddy [livejournal.com profile] igrrl (thanks, T, you rock!) , we realized that we'd ordered the damn buck nekkid dollie by mistake. Which we didn't want because, ya know, teensy arrows.

Well, as it happens, you can't cancel your Bambi order any more once you've paid. Drat. So, we wrote to Bambicrony customer service (once again, after crashing our web browser a couple of times), to see if we could just upgrade to a doll w/teensy arrows, which was also available on the site at that time.

We kept checking for an answer all night, despite many times crashing Safari, grrrr.

They finally wrote back this morning to say, sorries, the doll with clothes is now sold out! Which, she was. ARRRRGH!!!

(A bit of a crock, as we all know, since they're the company that MAKES the frickin' dolls, but we're all obsessed over limited editions, so there.)

Anyways, since we were feeling cranky, we wrote back for them to just cancel everything, and send us our monies back. Fortunately, we paid by credit card, so if they're jerks about it, we'll just cancel payment.

So, no blue dollies for tiki. S'O.K., we'll just buy more Stitchies. We still might pick up a Kumi on the secondary market, though given how 'spensive it is to order direct, that's not likely.

That really sucks. Those dolls are kind of cute, and I love the little gladiator-inspired outfits too. And hey, you gotta love a doll that comes with sharp pointy things, right? I'm sorry this didn't work out for you.

I'm sorry to hear that you won't be getting your Stitch-blue skinned gal but I fully understand your decision. I read that some people on DoA are looking to sell their FullSets because they prefer the ones without clothing. You might want to look around there and see what's up.

Okee, thanks for the tip! I'll check DoA.

Yeah, it's extra to paint the face too. BJDs are kinda like money sponges.

Homan, I know how you feel :( I totally would've bought one of the elves with the clothing, but I missed out. I can't find any on eBay...or anywhere for that matter. Not even just the clothes for sale. I know DoA has a marketplace, but unfortunately they decided to make it so you can't access it unless you've been a member for 25 days AND have 40 posts. I seriously hate forums that do that. It was bad enough I had to register just to access the information in the posts. Ugh.

But I digress.

I read somewhere on the forums that the quiver and bow wasn't included anyway. So maybe it's a good thing you didn't get it?

They're not going to be actually delivered 'til March--at that time, I'll bet they show up on Yahoo Japan at least. That's the annoying thing about limiteds, the dealers always seem to get their share.

DoA has had *terrible* trouble with ripoffs, as well as general wankery. That's why the long "trial" period before you can get to Marketplace.

I didn't realize the bow wasn't included. Reminds me of that Volks dollie, Jun, who was shown with the cutie plush toy--and then it turned out she didn't actually come with the plushie. I actually decided not to order because of that. I know--very silly.

Ohh, well maybe I have a shot at the outfits after all! Thanks, I didn't know that. I'll start looking again around March.

And yeah, I understand, it's just a big deterant for me since I'm not a big poster :( I know they say go to the gallery and comment on people's dolls to increase your post count, but that's easier said than done for someone on dial-up.

That's actually not silly at all, haha. Several times I've passed up on buying something because they include something in the picture that seems to be part of the purchase, then you find out it's not. It's lame.
