Ohhh my GOD I LOVE THOSE ;O;!!! ...But I am a complete newb with dolls. I went to the site and I didn't understand it at all ;___;;; Do you have to make the doll yourself? Or can you buy it completed?

Well, first off, as you might know, BJDs are hellaciously 'spensive, so bring the smelling salts when you look at the web page. And get to sellin some puddle bunnies!! ^_^

I found the page kinda confusing too. I believe they are already assembled, though you need to pay extra for a faceup. There's also a couple of ways you can buy the dollies, either nekkid, or with the outfit you see in the picture.

What's faceup mean? I saw that as an option and have no idea what it refers to.

But man, those're cute. I've often considered getting myself a doll like them. I've seen a lot of Dollfies around and I see all the different clothes and accessories you can get for them. I know they're supar expensive, but they look like sooo much fun. Maybe I should look into one of those.

A faceup is just painting the face. A lot of BJD collectors like to do that themselves. (Since you're an artist, it might be something you could try, but tiki is all thumbs.) You might check out, for example, blastmilk's blog for some pretty cool faceups.

They're *very* cool no doubt--the resin kind of has a glow that you just don't ever see in vinyl dolls. On the other hand, there's bajillion different scales of these dolls nowadays, so you have to be careful matching up eyes and wigs and outfits. I'd definitely cruise the Den of Angels boards to get an idea of what's out there.

Click around the site a bit--they have images of the colors on the pages for the individual dolls. The pink is *quite* pink, and the grey seems to have some bluish overtones.

Oh, it's a disaster!! I wanted to get a doll with the clothes, but because it's confusing, ordered a naked doll by mistake. I wrote to see if I could just upgrade the order, but then this morning they wrote me to say they'd sold out of the doll with clothes. now I'm trying to get a refund on the whole thing. I find them very annoying to deal with.

Maybe you can get one second hand, I read a lot of people are annoyed with them for comming out with a standard suddenly so there might be some sales as soon as they arrive.
