Didn't want to neglect our poor China China Pullip, even though we received her many many moons after everyone else. Unlike her poor boyfriend, Namu Fay, she arrived in this country basically unscathed, save for some slightly sprained ankles.
Her little serpent puppet, the most remarkable thing about her, reminds us of our beloved old Bob Clampett Beanie and Cecil cartoons, the purview of Dishonest John, Tearon the Dotted Lion, and the rest. The origin, of course, was a puppet show, and one of the best conceits of the cartoon, in our humble opinion, was that Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent in cartoon form continued to be a sock puppet with button eyes.
