Yawn! Mini Pullips
Feb. 1st, 2005 12:15 pmSigh. We asked for decaf. But the woman at Tully's was having a bad day, and we sympathized.
Anyway. We know, we know, all the cool kids already got theirs.
But if you wanna see our photos of the long-awaited mini Pullip dolls, then
Aww, here they all are, sitting on the shelf.

Paja is the only new one. Hmmm, she bears a suspicious resemblance to another licensed character!!!

And you know Moon. Only the little one has scary, non-blinky eyes.

Kinda like the Ewoks!
And this is Mini Leprotto, the scary bunny.

Shades of Donnie Darko. Only I don't think she has a knife. Yet.
Will the mini-Pullips, like the mini-Blythes, come to kill you in your sleep? The world awaits..
So look. Or don't. That's ok. We'll get by. (sniff!)

From the leaked prototype pics for the next wave, it really looks like Jun Planning is going to do two miniatures of existing dolls, and one completely original one.
The funny/sad thing is, back when they announced Little Pullips for the first time (line up included Opera, Jester, and Nun), their big thing was "Oooh look, we're not just miniaturizing existing dolls, we're making miniature fashions that look good at this scale!" So much for that plan, I guess.
Too bad they're not blinky... I wonder why they had to cut that out? Was it too expensive to install sleep-eyes?

Date: 2005-02-01 04:42 pm (UTC)The new ones, spotted in photos from Hong Kong Toy Fair, are Little Anne Shirley, Little Fantastic Alice, and a mystery lady that some fans have dubbed "Batgirl". She's in pleather and has dark blue? hair.
