By now, you've all seen the video (and if not, WARNING BEFORE YOU CLICK, it's disturbing!) of the UCLA student getting repeatedly tasered by the campus cops.

Tiki, having experienced firsthand poorly trained and downright rude security drones on the LA campus, was sadly not surprised. But, seeing as we have connections to the UCLA library system, we asked an old friend for her reaction. She said in part:

News make it sound as if the librarians are wielding weapons and using [them] at random (but wouldn't that be cool?).

Armed and librarian? We could go for that.

According to news reports, and to my friend, he was in the computer lab studying, and if you're there after 11 pm, you're supposed to have ID (basically, your Bruin card). When he was asked, he either didn't have his or refused to show it. The library security dudes called the campus cops, who proceeded to taser him repeatedly.

He's lawyered up, and there will be a lawsuit, so I suppose we'll be hearing more.

ah, thanks. hm, guess its kinda inevitable the guards behave like that huh.. for all you know that poor fellow might have the intention to do something really crazy.

gotta sympathize with the guards sometimes (not the ones in this video tho).
