I've given up cross stitch a while ago... But seeing this is inspirational. Esp. since I used to create my own designs (I made a Totoro for a friend who still displays it proudly on her desk). Mmmm... I'm thinking of creating a real Euro Stitch complete with beret, cigarette and baguette of course !

Ooh, you do anime ones? I would really like to make one of like, Kirara from Inuyasha, or Luna and Artemis from Sailor Moon, or Ryo-ohki (the bunny cat) from Tenchi Muyo. Yes, I favor animals more than the human characters. ^_^

EuroStitch told me he would be pleased to pose for your masterpiece. As soon as he finishes his cigarette.

Wanna know how I did it? Well, it took a lot of estimating, but basically I found a clipart Stitch on the net. Then, using Photoshop I adjusted the brightness/contrast to make Stitch light, but not too light. Then I printed it out. Then I put the page back into the printer, and had PC Stitch 7 (which I got free from patternsonline.com) print a page of grid lines over it (just page 1. one time I forgot and wound up with five pages, four of which were basically blank).

To get the colors I had to just pull out all the threads I have and compare them against the original image. If you don't have that many you can always go to a craft store with a copy of the picture and compare that way. Unfortunately the darker blue for his back and paws didn't come out very well. :(

The frame's from any art supply store. The hibiscus flower decoration on the frame is a cute little rubber stamp I found at a scrapbooking store. ^_^ It's one of my favorite flowers. My sister's a big flipflop fanatic, so I also found a free pattern of a pair of flipflops online and I'm going to put hibiscus flowers all around that frame, too.

And you can't really tell from the picture, but some of the flowers are embossed. That's from an craft supply store, too. The directions actually say to apply the heat under the project, but because the frame's all thick I had to kinda hold it over the stove diagonally (to avoid loose pieces of embossing powder falling off).

I'm planning on making one with Lilo AND Stitch for myself, but right now I'm working on a really cute bunny rabbit pattern I got off of patternsonline.com. ^_^

Yeah, I started out getting kits, too, but all the really good patterns - animals, especially - were expensive. So I did a search for free patterns and found patternsonline.com. Still costs money to download the patterns, but it's at least a lot cheaper to do that and get your own thread. ^_^
