Usually, tiki is the very model of a modern major packaging freak. But we are a bit weathered after prising open this latest Yujin set.

So, this is Yujin's Coquetic Cuties set. Yes, it sound more like an intestinal disorder than gashapon.

So, let's open the carton...

Ah, look at the cutie little boxes!

Not really clear how you open the things without destroying them.

Aha!

First you have to peel off a couple of seals, and then the wrapper pulls off.

And you open it....er.....

....you open it up to see another liner. #$%@#$%$#$%!!

Some time, and a few more seals later, we've finally gotten a set liberated from their boxes!

Marie, as usual. (We've gotten used to her by now.)

And Bambi, very cute.

Orange Bird.

Miss Bunny.

Oh, and Dumbo, our favorite!

"He looks rather like Pinocchio, doesn't he?" opines Wombat Mark.

I have often wondered what the heck it is with all the packaging on Japanese toys. Sometimes (okay, frequently!) the packaging uses more plastic than the toy itself does. One of these days I really need to take a photo of that FIVE STAR STORIES Mortar Headd action figure I have which has quite possibly the Biggest Packaging Ever In The History Of The Entire Universe.

excuse me, but can you tell me what Orange Bird is from? i had a figure of that when I was a kid, but I had no idea it was related to Disney?
I know you're not an Orange Bird collector, but just thought you might know something. Thanks ^^;

Yeah, it was actually the mascot for Florida orange growers. The Disney connection is Florida orange growers used to sponsor the enchanted tiki room at WDW. If you are olde, you might remember Orange Bird appearing in TV commercials alongside Anita Bryant (pre anti-gay crusade days).
