tikistitchA tale of tiki dilemma....
So, as Frequent Readers know, Tikistitch will buy just about anything if it's related to Stitch. By which, these lovely tiki toothbrushes from our fair neighbor to the north, Canada, qualify.
Here's the story: we purchased these on eBay last November. The 6th of November to be precise. We actually bought two sets, as we had vague plans to share one set as a Christmas present to a tiki-obsessed acquaintance.
A month passed, and no toothbrushes. We wrote the dealer a polite note, asking whether and when they had been mailed. The dealer wrote back to ask for our ebay ID (which was odd, as it was included in the original email). We wrote back with our ID. Weeks passed, and there was no response from the dealer with an explanation.
Soon, Christmas approached, and still no tiki toothbrushes. At this point, we re-checked the dealer's feedback. She has several negatives. What especially struck us, however, was that to each and every negative feedback, she had written a snarky reply, implying it was always the buyer's fault. In any case, we wrote to her again, again politely, to inquire if our items had been mailed. The dealer wrote back, a slightly irritated message, asking for our mailing address to send out "a second set," and demanding we send back "the first set" when and if it ever arrives.
So finally, last night, two months after we paid for two sets of toothbrushes, one set arrives in our mailbox. Thus the dilemma: write back to this irritable and slightly flakey dealer, and inquire about the second set, which we also bought and paid for, or just chalk it up as a loss? It was only $4 a set after all, so this would mainly be "on principle."
Eh. Methinks we think too much.
