L:ilo & Stitch Edicion Especial
May. 23rd, 2006 11:13 amNOTE: This is a reposting from the Lilo & Stitch group last year. Wanted to get it into our personal blog so we could put it in our memories, so people will be able to find it.
Our friend Boneboy just returned from a sojourn in south o' de border, and returned with THE GREATEST DVD EVER!!

Yes, it's the Mexican special edition of Lilo & Stitch, the original movie. This is the same two disk version of the movie Dizzney is endlessly promising to release hereabouts, and only to cruelly postpone once again. Such an edition has already been released in Latin American, and fortunately for Tikistitch, who as yet is not hip enough to own a region-free DVD player, this disk is actually Region 1 compatible.
If you look at the back, you can see a list of the extensive features they've added (ok, so it's en espanol, but you get the drift). Most importantly, it includes a commentary track by Chris and Dean, along with Clark Spencer, the producer. It also includes about half dozen deleted scenes, including the death of Pudge the Fish (we can see why that one was deleted, as watching the rough made Tikistitch quite depressed), and Stitch's pre-9/11 hijacking of a 747 jet (yes, poor Ice Cream Man still loses his cone in this version). And there's an extensive documentary about the making of the movie, which we've only begun watching, as Mr. Tikistitch has requested that we cease our Stitchmania in order to tape 60 Minutes for him.
Some fast forward tricks, according to Chris & Dean (we haven't been able to confirm yet):
During the scene outside hula class, where Lilo pulls out Scrump, and then throws the doll down in disgust when her "friends" run away, watch when Lilo runs back to pick up the doll, because Scrump's expression supposedly changes to a smile.
While Stitch and Jumba are fighting at Lilo's house, when they're in the room with the Duke poster on the wall, watch Duke's expression after the wall is destroyed, because it supposedly changes for a couple of frames.
