Barthelona!
Dec. 8th, 2004 12:32 pmSo, made it to Barcelona, where it´s pouring rain. We are in Las Ramblas, where a million jillion wet Spaniards are all out window shopping, today being some sort of holiday (though no one seems to know quite which one).
Had quite a time at the Con, though I missed out no partying with the Stormtroopers, I did finally snag a Con t-shirt. Steve and Bob decided to accompany Duncan and Anne and Philip and Gus and I on the train to Barcelona from Sitges this morning. If Bob ever enters The Amazing Race, he will win.
I climbed 370 steps all the way to the top of la Sacra Familia, the Gaudi-designed cathedral that´s been under consruction since 1882. (They´ll get it right eventually!) Then I made everybody stop for beer. We ate at a place that gave out buckets o´beer.
Gus and Duncan´s evil plan to get down to Sevilla tonight didn´t quite pan out, so now we face the prospect of taking two overnight trains in a row to the South and back, all to see one Star Wars site. Silly. Not as silly as going to Barcelona, running to the Disney Store, and going home though. I found the addresses of the Disney Stores in Europe at Disney.co.uk by the way, in case any of y´all want to invest in Euro-Stitch. I found several new ones, a plush pillow, a medium sized extra-fluffy guy, a digital watch, and a couple of little guys. But I see my time is almost up, so more stitch talk manana.
