*brrrrring*

It's Mr. Tikistitch! What is it, my love?

"Um, could you meet me by our parking spot?"

Certainly, my sweet. Why do you need me?

"You got so many $%#@#$% Stitches I had to ride with the top down!!"

My goodness, yes, that is quite a load of boxes.

"Hang on, I've gotta get another box from the trunk..."

Ah, home at last!

Yay, THERE'S the sports car! Geez, I had two convertibles but here in MN it's only practical to put the top down about as often as it is comforable to ride a motorcycle...that is, about two weeks total per year. Oh and I considered a closed sports car (Mazda RX-8) but with rear wheel drive and low clearance even THAT would be in storage 6-8 months of the year... :P

Dude, we live in Seattle. On the rare occasions when that yellow ball in the sky chooses to come out, we scream at each other, "Top down day!!" and try to come up with an excuse to go somewhere we need to drive to.

The Boxster is supposed to handle fine in the snow (though I know what you mean about the low clearance!!!), but you really need to equip it with snow tires. It's rear wheel drive, but the engine is located somewhere in the middle (you'd have to ask Mr. Tiki about this), so the handling is actually very forgiving. We've driven it a lot in severe rainstorms lately.

Ye dinna half to tell me about Seattle, lassie, eye was burn dere!! ^_^ My parents tell me how EXCITING it was when it actually snowed a couple of inches & they had to sweep off the car...

Oh and around here I haven't seen any Porches, Boxters or otherwise, all winter...everything like that goes into hibernation from around November-April or May here... :P

One time I saw a guy who had unfortunately chosen to drive his vette on a day when the temp was rather crisp...around zero. He got t-boned and the fiberglass shattered like a teacup!!

Oh, those things are *so* dangerous in an accident! Mr. Tiki initially wanted to look at some other fiberglass roadster as well as the models we test drove, and I fairly freaked (a Lotus?--I can't remember). Fortunately, it was love at first sight with the Boxster.

I personally don't see the big deal with vettes, at least the older ones. I got a ride once in a 1964-7 stingray. It was supposedly worth tons as it has the enormous 450-something engine in it and damn but it WAS fast but it had the suspension of a go-kart and creaked and moaned like a clipper ship in a gale when it went over highway bumps!! :P

I love the look of the classic Stingrays. But it seems everyone I know who's had on has a terrific/horrifying story about wiping out.

I almost bought a 1965 roadster when I was in college...it had the 350hp 327 in it, was RED with white top/leather. VERY fast. The owner wanted $3,500 for it but, alas, the insurance was over $1500/year! (We're talking 1976 here) I ended up buying the only new car I've ever owned for $4,200...a 1976 Cockroach, uh, CHEVETTE!! Bright yellow with black interior, it was my baby. The only time it didn't start was the night it got down to -36F...

Oh yeah, and I forgot:

"Hang on, I've gotta get another box from the trunk..."

...Which one?? ^_^

I'm afraid you'll end up buried alive under all those Stitchies... So don't hesitate to send some over to my place in Paris. It's for your safety.

Are you sure your Blythes wouldn't be peeved? My Stitchies get along ok with my Pullips, but I think it's only because the Pirate Stitchies are willing to go on raids with Rovam.

Oh, Mr. Tiki "HAD to ride with the top down." What torture! Having to drive the shiny red Porsche around with the top down...

Well, I guess if it was raining, it wouldn't be so cool. But still!

And besides, the car was full of Stitches! It could not have possibly gotten any cooler.

Too true! Stitches are *the* accessory for the well turned out roadster.

You need to take photos of your SDs attempting to hijack the car. You can't tell me Abigail wouldn't do it if she got the opportunity.

I do have a couple of tiny Stitch stickers on my motorcycle... had one on my previous bike too.

Anyone who'd apply Stitchie stickers to the Porsche would be at risk of painful death, but we *do* have a Hello Kitty deodorizer on the Tikimobile.

Heh... but they're leeeetle stickers, not even an inch high -- a stylish
accessory!

Except all the red has worn out of poor Stitch's mouth on mine.
