See this display? It's just Pretty Cure stuff. Just Pretty Cure stuff. A whole display.

Eek.

These were just a couple of the random toy shops Yoda-san dragged us to last week.

Want a handfull o' Blythes? Just grabbie.

Oh, and then Yoda-san took dragged us to a store in Ginza that he claimed was "better" than Toys R Us. "Oh," he put in parenthetically, there's a Licca club in the basement?

Licca? Club? Not.....

Aiiiii!!!!!!!

(We weren't technically supposed to take these pictures,

but they were really, really, really nice at the shop. They sent us upstairs to pay, so we could save tax, which means we literally could have walked out of the elevator onto the street with Yensfull of merchandise!!!)

Oh, and if you're looking for the Volks shop in Akihabara, it's right off the subway. Here's what the front looks like.

It's right next door to this human Habitrail building.

It's actually a multi-storey mall, full of hobby shops (like Yellow Submarine), each one more wonderful than the next.

C-zone outfits for miles.

So much stuff....

60 cm Momolita? Ai!!!

O_O So many dollies....

*blink*

That girl wearing the Momolita outfit in the last pic looks like one of the Obitsu Haruka dolls...

The Haruka facemold is really similar to Dru's, which is the... other realistic head. Without a name.

Um, I go die now from the overwhelming cuteness. Kay. Bye.

It is, in fact, labelled as a Haruka doll. :)

Whoo hoo!!! I'm SO glad you got to see the coolness that is a Japanese toy store! Kudos to Yoda-san!

It's like living in a Star Trek toy store or something.

I need to find a cash machine.....

Date: 2005-11-21 04:25 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] avalonjones.livejournal.com
Be careful--those cash machines are only open a couple hours out of the day! A 24-hour cash machine is an alien concept in Japan. I bet Yoda-san knows where they all are, though, and what times they're available. Have fun!!

We went to change money at a bank today, which was an experience in itself--lots of bowing. Tikistitch was intrigued, if totally baffled by it all.

Is that the Akihabara Azone store, or something else? I NEED some of those C-zone outfits.

It's in the same building as Volks, on a lower floor. I have no clue as to the shop name, since we went through it all so fast!!

GHNjklsrjk;dta;kltadfjh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Say, Pam, I should've asked earlier, but if for any reason you run into those Shirley Temple dolls that look like Tutti/Todd from the late 60's Barbie line, would you be able to pick one up for me? I am deeply intrigued by them. It's no big deal. I have no idea where they're sold (Robo Chris? Actual Shirley Temple store? Not sure). Money is, of course, involved.

Do you have a link to an image? It doesn't sound like something I know. I *am* plotting to get back to Volks after I've mailed off my fleet of Stitches.

No problemo:

http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g37686919

Why these go for 40,000 yen is a mystery: maybe cos there are two? Uh, one is good. It's a wacky childrens' store. If you don't find them, I will not lose sleep.

But say, if you're going to the Volks store and you happen upon any of these shoes, money will be payed! I put a higher priority on these than the mysterious Shirley Temple:

http://www.volks.co.jp/en/goods/index_goods.aspx?sbct=54&page=2&parts=21
Bottom row, left: Shoes with crosses

http://www.volks.co.jp/en/goods/index_goods.aspx?sbct=54&page=3&parts=21
Top row, right: Mary Janes with heart cutouts, OR the equally weighted...
Second row, left: Mary Jane with ruffle detail.

And, just in case:
http://www.volks.co.jp/en/goods/index_goods.aspx?sbct=53&page=3&parts=20&brand=48
Green or pink White Rose ruffly babydoll.... oh my lord, if you see these, I will pay handsomely.

I feel like a turd for not thinking of this sooner, but if you were to become the Doll Fairy, I would... I would send you money AND lobsters. Or hot dogs. Or all three. Or Moxie, hot dogs, lobsters, and money, or a hug, or something.

P.S. visit Boston next

$400 Shirley Temples may be out of the question, as using one's credit card is a bit dodgy here (they sometimes reject it out of hand), but I will take a look at the shoe case. I actually saw a real Japanese girl wearing my fave shoes, MJs that had a leopard print pattern on top.

Yeah... I don't think I can afford $400 anyhow. $50 doll shoes, however! That's another case, 'specially cos I gots a $50 Visa gift card on its way to me.
