Merry Kurisumasu!
Nov. 19th, 2004 06:57 pmSo, hubby got his huge cabinet, and somebody else is going to drop it on his toe....I mean, deliver it.
Meanwhile, let's pass the time while I wait for him to get home from the mailbox place.

Despite appearances, this ornament set is from the J Disney Store. But wait, something looks awfully familiar about it....
Anybody remember this set?

Turns out, they just repackaged Lilo, Stitch, Nani and Pleakley from the US Storybook Ornament Set.

Looks like the same molds to me, only they've repainted them slightly. Observe, J Stitch

DS Stitch, gnashing his teeth:

J Nani, looking slightly stoned:

DS Nani, looking merely ditzy:

I'm not surprised that Dizzney would try to make a quick buck by repackaging some toys for an overseas market. I am amazed that for once, the Japanese version of a collectible is actually more cheaply made. It's a bit weird that they're making Xmas-themed merch for the Japanese market anyway, if you think about it (and I'm not even going to go into the Halloween stuff they sell in Japan and Europe), I guess people just need something to look at while they eat their KFC.
