40 days and 40 nights

'Tis raining again.

Tikistitch's response to inclement weather is and has always been:

1) Retreat indoors

2) Fix cocoa (with marshmallows)

3) Find warm cosy spot and dive into book

This is the book we just finished, The Arc of Justice, by Kevin Boyle. We must admit a prior complete ignorance of this sad event in our nation's history, despite the pronounced Clarence Darrow fixation that was part of Tikistitch's misspent youth. This book is a corker, that rare combination of Educational and page-turner. Race, The Reconstruction, and Real Estate Agents--this book has it all.

Now we're off to delete some spam....

I'm comin', Beanie Boy!

China squared.


You know what to do.

Didn't want to neglect our poor China China Pullip, even though we received her many many moons after everyone else. Unlike her poor boyfriend, Namu Fay, she arrived in this country basically unscathed, save for some slightly sprained ankles.

Her little serpent puppet, the most remarkable thing about her, reminds us of our beloved old Bob Clampett Beanie and Cecil cartoons, the purview of Dishonest John, Tearon the Dotted Lion, and the rest. The origin, of course, was a puppet show, and one of the best conceits of the cartoon, in our humble opinion, was that Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent in cartoon form continued to be a sock puppet with button eyes.
