Huh. I remember when the ko-gal phenomenon first happened, there was a backlash movement towards (essentially) preppy outfits. Who would've guessed that the preppies would win out?

(Well, okay, there's the fact that Burberry-style brand name handbags *never* went out of style amongst the 10 to 30 set in Japan, but still...)
