I always hated piano lessons.



This was evidently a record-breaking smash hit in India, and one that sealed SRK and Kajol as a wildly popular film couple. Now, as you might have already guessed, a "blockbuster" rom-com in India means a couple things: fantastic production numbers, and sentimental TO THE MAX. This one delivers in spades

SRK is a rich, spoiled college drop out, and Kajol is a very traditional girl who has just been promised in an arranged marriage. Both have expat parents living in London, so they go (separately) to continental Europe for a vacation. Of course, they meet, fight, dance in the snow wearing unsuitable clothes, and fall for each other. This one has a cute drunk scene as well.

Of course, this is Bollywood, so there is A TWEEST! I already told you, Kajol's dad has already arranged for her to marry some other dude. So ignoring her blubbering about true love, he packs the family off to India, where we meet her fiance, a dead ringer for Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. Yeah, I know, ewww! But not to worry, SRK is the impetuous sort, so he's soon on his was to India to crash the wedding. Hee-larious hijinx plus teh drama (plus a not so hilarious beat-down) ensue.

Part of the sentimental message I mentioned: your parents are your best friends, even if they're being complete dicks. So, SRK can't just convince Kajol to run away with him, he needs daddy's approval first. There is one scene, where SRK's intentions towards his daughter are finally uncovered, the dude playing the father pulls this bug-eyed STARE face that I swear he hold for like 20 minutes. THAT, my friends, is pissed off.

Anyway, very cute and sweet and frothy and completely enjoyable while the DVD player is running, and then it all disappears in a poof once you go on to something else. Which is just fine.

BTW, I'm watching a really cute one tonight: Rab ne Bana de Jodi. SRK plays a nerd! I wanna hug him!!!
