Dearest Takara
Jul. 22nd, 2005 05:44 pmWe are getting mighty, mighty sick of your designs for goth loli Jenny.
Why, you may ask?
Look here, at the lineup we produced, after a mere 5 minutes rummaging through the Tikistitch' s dusty curio cabinet:

None of these dolls or outfits are any newer than vintage 2003.
And there are more. Oh yes, my friend! This is but the tip of the gothic iceberg. There are more upstairs, lying waiting in their little coffin-shaped boxes.
And this does not begin to count the various black-clad dollies we own produced by Azone, Volks, and their ilk. We loves us some goth dolls--no one could dispute that fact, as much of our retirement money is invested in the little buggers.
But back to Takara, and their recent lack of inspiration.

The hat? The little crown applique? Not to mention knee-hi stockings and a petticoat. Doesn't something look a little familiar here???
Yes, go ahead, make more goth lolita style Jenny dolls. But at least have sympathy for the rest of us, the goth-saturated minority. Why not a Jenny dressed as an intergalactic bounty hunter? The Jenny tax collector? Jenny the alcoholic cabaret singer? C'mon Takara dudes! You can do better.

Date: 2005-07-22 09:44 pm (UTC)(Too bad that "After school" Calendar Girl line-up never came out... I was really hoping they'd have a cute schoolgirl Lobelia/afterschool activity set.)
I suppose this is Good News for people who missed the previous editions, but it is disheartening when Takara can't seem to put any energy into revitalizing Jenny.
I still haven't made any outfits from the Casual Fashion My Favorite Doll pattern book. At least one of them had the crown applique and the hat and etc.
