Heh, yeah, they probably need someone like Emi to help them. But I love it so much! There's something very sweet and innocent about it. It reminds me of the spacey Engrish on some of the early Jenny dolls.
I also weep over that fact that many Japanese sites use English for their navigation systems, and a CRAPLOAD of them have "dairy" for the graphic link to their blogs or diaries. Ditto the number of sites that advertise their DOOLs. As near as I can tell, it's not a typo; it's spelling "doll" like the Japanese anglicized word.
I have another funny translation story from Comic Con. Our Mexican friend, Luis, told us this. One time, a mutual American friend, Steve, who's a bigwig at Lucasfilm, was visiting Mexico, and they were eating some exotic local food. Steve asked Luis what kind of meat was in the delicacy, and Luis cheerfully told him, "snake!"
It was only after Steve had spewed a mouthful across the room that they figured out Luis actually meant "steak."
